Refund and cancellation policy

Draft for approval. The refund window, the point of no refund and the renewal notice period below are commercial decisions, not legal facts. They are written as a starting position and should be confirmed by you, and checked by a solicitor, before this page is published.

What is free

BenchMark is free. The self-evaluation, the scorecard, the gap analysis, the evidence base, the action plan and the DfE self-assessment export cost nothing, need no card, and are not a trial. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

What is paid

The Enrichment Mark is a paid, independently moderated award. It is a single annual charge, taken once by card at the point you apply. It is not a subscription and it does not renew automatically: if you want the Mark again the following year, you choose to apply again and pay again.

Cancelling before review starts

You can cancel and receive a full refund at any point after paying and before your submission is allocated to a reviewer. Email hello@rounded.education from the address on the account and we will refund to the original card within 14 days.

Once review has started

Review is the thing you are buying: a named, experienced reviewer reads the evidence a school has assembled and writes a judgement on it. Once a reviewer has been allocated and has begun, that work has been done and the fee is non-refundable, whatever the outcome.

This includes an unsuccessful outcome. You are paying for an independent judgement, not for a particular verdict. A school that does not reach the standard receives the reviewer's reasons and an action plan, and may reapply.

If we get it wrong

If we miss our published review turnaround, if the review is not carried out as described, or if we cannot deliver the Mark for a reason that is ours rather than yours, tell us and we will refund you in full. We would rather refund a school than argue with one.

If you are unhappy with a review

Email hello@rounded.education within 30 days of receiving the outcome, saying what you think went wrong. We will look at it again ourselves, and we will tell you what we conclude and why. This is a review of our process, not an appeal that guarantees a different verdict.

Duplicate and mistaken payments

Charged twice, or charged for a school you did not mean to pay for? Tell us and we will refund the duplicate in full, without argument.

How refunds are paid

Always to the original payment method, in pounds sterling, normally within 14 days of us agreeing the refund. Your bank may take a few days more to show it. We do not charge an administration fee for a refund.

Business customers

We sell to schools, colleges and trusts rather than to consumers, so the statutory cancellation rights that apply to consumer distance selling do not apply here. The rights on this page are ones we give you, and we intend to honour them.
